Continue Visitor and Island resident safety improvements to accomplish goal of a “world class beach resort"
Investigate & recruit airlift to our regional airports to provide better access for visitors, removing the“seasonality” out of our travel season.
Make South Padre Island a year-round cruise ship destination. Create the master plan, negotiate with partners, and recruit the first cruise ship line.
Exercise strong financial stewardship and continue to enact productivity improvements to strip out unnecessary operating costs to Island taxpayers.
Continue HOT revenue enforcement to ensure fairness, providing necessary funds for promoting the island, beach re-nourishment, and funding special events to attract visitors to support our local economy year round.
Enact programs to improve the bay and boating access.
Continue to improve our beach front and expand the Island parks, sidewalks, and biking opportunities.
Smartly invest in infrastructure improvements to improve the visitor and resident experience.
Partner with County, State, and Federal officials to cooperatively fund important improvement projects such as the second causeway.
Timely execution of the many improvements already enacted and funded during the past three years.
Obtain a "home" for future bayside silent water sports and other facilities.
Begin planning and implementation of Laguna Blvd. Improvements
Invest in infrastructure to update “deferred maintenance” on buildings, safety, IT infrastructure
Continue investment in bayside fishing infrastructure, using Grants received by City for funding projects such as side street parking for Bayfront boat ramps, and skate park
Adequate state compliant parking for Gulf Blvd.
